The Grammy Awards, originally the Gramophone Awards, is an awards ceremony to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance arts: Emmy Awards (television), the Tony Awards (stage performance), and the Academy Awards (motion pictures). Winners are awarded a gold-plated trophy, depicting a gilded gramophone.

2013[]

Ed Sheeran was nominated in the category for "Song of the Year" for his song The A Team, which he also performed with Elton John.

2014[]

Sheeran was nominated in the category for "Best New Artist"

2015[]

Sheeran was nominated in three categories for "Album of the Year" and "Best Pop Vocal Album" for X and "Best Song Written for Visual Media" for the song I See Fire. He also performed his single Thinking Out Loud featuring John Mayer.

2016[]

Sheeran won two Grammy awards for "Song of the Year" and "Best Pop Solo Performance" for Thinking Out Loud. He was also nominated for "Album of the Year" as a guest featured for The Weeknd's album Beauty Behind the Madness and "Record of the Year" for Thinking Out Loud.
